Djurgardens IF beat Gais 2-0 in Allsvenskan on Sunday. Kristian Stromland Lien opened the scoring in the 35th minute with an assist from Bo Åsulv Hegland.

Hegland made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute after receiving the ball from Lien and finishing calmly past the Gais goalkeeper. The goals came against a Gais side reduced to ten men after Oskar Ågren was sent off in the 59th minute.

Djurgardens IF had 51 percent possession and created five on-target shots from twelve attempts. Gais managed three on-target efforts from thirteen shots but failed to score despite winning more corners and committing fewer fouls.

Besides Ågren's red card, Dennis Collander was booked for Gais in the 53rd minute, while Daniel Stensson received a yellow card for Djurgardens IF as early as the 20th minute.

In the 86th minute, Christos Almyras was shown a second yellow card and sent off for Djurgardens IF, and shortly after Henry Sletsjoe received his second yellow card and was consequently sent off for Gais in the 90+10th minute.

Joackim Aberg was booked in the 90+8th minute for Gais, making it the fifth yellow card of the match and the third for the away team.

Gais made four substitutions in the 64th minute as Matteo de Brienne, Filip Beckman, William Milovanovic and Simon Jørgensen replaced Thomasson, Pettersson, Collander and Vasić. Jonas Lindberg came on in the 83rd minute for Niklasson.

Djurgardens IF substituted Daniel Stensson for Christos Almyras in the 68th minute, and later replaced both Bo Åsulv Hegland and Adam Stahl in the 81st and 82nd minutes.

Peter Langhoff and Alexander Andersson entered in the 90th minute for Patric Aslund and Jeppe Okkels, completing the home side's changes.

With the result, Gais remain on 27 points from 20 games and sit tenth in Allsvenskan, 18 points behind league leaders Sirius. The team has scored 25 goals and conceded 18 this season.

Most recently, Gais won 4-0 against BP on August 31, but have now lost two of their last three matches.

Gais' next fixture is away at Mjallby AIF on September 20, a team currently sitting twelfth in the table.

The previous meeting between the sides also ended 2-0 to Djurgardens IF on September 14, 2026.
