GAIS may soon welcome back Ibrahim Diabate, one of the club's standout players. Diabate had a fantastic season last year, finishing as a joint top scorer in the Allsvenskan with 18 goals. After being loaned to Spanish club Deportivo Alaves at the start of the season, it now appears that Alaves will not exercise their buy option to keep him. According to reports from Spanish media, including El Correa and Cadena SER, the club is unwilling to pay the buyout clause of around 27 million Swedish kronor. During his time at Alaves, Diabate scored two goals in ten matches, but his future now seems to lie back with GAIS. There is also interest from other Spanish clubs, which could affect his return. GAIS fans are eager to see if Diabate will don the green and black jersey again, where he previously showcased his talent and goal-scoring ability.
