Vasic Prepares GAIS

Nikola Vasic, 34 years old, began the season with Hammarby IF but terminated his contract in July and joined GAIS. He now has a contract that runs until 2026. Vasic has played four Allsvenskan matches for GAIS, three from the start, but has yet to score a league goal.

The Match Against Hammarby

On Sunday GAIS will face Hammarby IF. The match starts at 16:30. After 17 completed rounds, Hammarby sits in second place in Allsvenskan, while GAIS is in ninth place. Vasic has previously played against Hammarby with Hammarby IF and says the atmosphere at the arena will be “really good” and that it will be a fun match to play.

Respect and Goals

When Expressen asked if it would feel nice to score his first league goal for GAIS against Hammarby, Vasic replied: “It’s not something I’m thinking about now. It will happen.” He further explained that he does not think he would celebrate a goal, because it would feel odd: “I have a lot of respect for Hammarby and their fans. It would feel strange.” Vasic emphasized that he has not celebrated a goal so far and does not plan to do so in this match.
