GAIS's own goal secured three points for Malmö FF in the derby at Gamla Ullevi. After a chanceless match, the game got a beautiful own goal in the 53rd minute, when Filip Beckman steered the ball retfully into 1-0 for MFF past his own goalkeeper Mergim Krasniqi.

– I just wanted to kick the ball away, but it bounced off and went into the goal, says Beckman after the fact.

The goal got the game to ignite, really. It was a clash in the duels, and the referee Richard Sundell had a sweaty afternoon in the sun at Gamla Ullevi. Robin Olsen continued to play big between the posts for MFF.

Frosti Torkelsson got a free shot from close range in the 85th minute, but Malmö goalkeeper made a match-winning save. On extra time, Olsen also saved a header from close range from Henry Sletsjö.

– It's always nice. It's very nice to see how we fight for each other out there. We knew it would be an incredibly tough match. We stood up and did what we had to do, says MFF goalkeeper.

Is there any revenge feeling for you?

– No, I don't know. I'm probably the most critical of myself and the last match was tough. At the same time, I've been around for so long. It's just to go in with a new focus on the next match and it's been good this week.

Praises Olsen

MFF coach Gaute Helstrup praises Olsen's performance.

– Today he really stood out. He has an aura around him that spreads calm. He helps them around him in a fantastic way. He makes us better both in everyday life and on the pitch. He becomes four meters long on the entries and is also good at saving shots.

Anders Christiansen, who made a comeback after three and a half months of absence, joins the praise choir.

– Robin has shown since he came home that he is a class goalkeeper. It's not the first time this year that he's match-decisive, says MFF midfielder.
